You know those days when you’re journaling, meditating, checking every box on your manifestation routine… and something still feels off? You’re not upset exactly, just out of sync. Like you’re trying to feel grateful, but your body refuses to follow.

Alignment has nothing to do with being happy 24/7.

The idea started with good intentions.
Energy matters. Your emotional state influences what you notice, what you act on, and what you attract.

But somewhere along the way, it turned into a checklist.
Be positive.
Stay grateful.
Don’t complain.
Smile more.

So now, if you’re not joyful all day, you must be out of alignment.

No wonder women feel exhausted.
We’re intelligent and self aware. We read the books, listen to the podcasts, do the inner work… and still have days that feel heavy or unclear.

The issue is not that your vibration drops.
It’s believing that it shouldn’t.

That belief creates shame. You wake up anxious and immediately think, “I need to fix this fast or I’ll attract something bad.”
Suddenly you’re not manifesting, you’re managing your emotions like a full time job.

That is not alignment.
That is control dressed up as spirituality.

Real alignment doesn’t require perfection.
It requires honesty.
Compassion.
A moment of truth: “This is where I am today. What’s one thing that would feel just a little more caring for me right now?”

Your subconscious responds to truth, not performance.

When you fake positivity, it senses the mismatch and pushes back.
When you’re real, your whole system softens.
Your energy rises naturally because you stopped pretending.

A Story I’ve Never Told Like This Before

A few years ago, right after releasing the second edition of my book, my husband, Tom, moved out.

It felt surreal. We had drifted apart slowly, quietly, while trying to hold the image together. When he finally said he needed space and had met someone else, everything inside me cracked.

I remember thinking, How did I end up here?
I was teaching women how to manifest love and confidence.
And there I was, on my kitchen floor, surrounded by everything I had built, wondering if any of it mattered.

It wasn’t only heartbreak. It was shame.
For a moment I even thought about walking away from my business.
“If I can’t manifest a healthy relationship, who am I to help anyone else?”

But then something shifted.

One night I poured a glass of wine, turned on Bridget Jones’s Diary, and allowed myself to feel everything I had been avoiding. I cried until I couldn’t anymore.

And afterwards, a quiet realization surfaced.
Even in that pain, I was still connected to love.
Not the cheerful, high vibe kind.
A deeper, more honest kind. The kind that says, “This hurts, and I still want to heal.”

So instead of pretending I was fine, I chose truth.

I missed him. I wanted him back. But more than anything, I wanted to feel like myself again. The version of me who felt alive, grounded, magnetic. The woman he fell in love with… and the woman I had stopped being.

So I started small.

Not with affirmations.
Not with journaling marathons.

With real actions that felt aligned with the love I wanted to rebuild.

I walked every morning to reconnect with peace.
I took the birthday trip we had planned together, alone, because I refused to cancel my joy.
I cooked for myself again. I put on perfume just for me.

Every day, the same whisper:
You are love.
You are worthy of love.
You are becoming love again.

These actions didn’t erase my sadness. They transformed it.
They turned heartbreak into clarity and longing into alignment.

Slowly, the shift happened deep within my subconscious.

Months later, as I softened, healed, and returned to myself, Tom and I found our way back together. Not through pressure or forcing an outcome, but through two people realigning honestly.

And this year we celebrated our most beautiful anniversary yet in Bora Bora.

But the real miracle wasn’t that he returned.
It was that I did.

Alignment is not about being high vibe.
Alignment is about emotional integrity.

The Science Behind Emotional Honesty

Here’s the part I love.
Neuroscience backs this up completely.

Your subconscious mind is designed to protect you, not punish you.
It constantly scans for emotional truth. When your words and feelings don’t match, your brain experiences it as stress.

This is what psychologists call cognitive dissonance.
Studies show that emotional suppression increases fear responses in the brain. Emotional honesty calms those responses.

Another study from UCLA found that simply naming your emotion reduces activity in the emotional centers of your brain and increases clarity in the thinking centers.

So when you’re honest with yourself, your biology stabilizes.

Your Reticular Activating System, the filter that decides what information to pay attention to, relies on emotional data. If you constantly fake positivity, your brain gets confused. It doesn’t know what to filter for.

When you say, “I’m hurting and I’m still healing,” your brain receives a clear direction. Your subconscious relaxes. Your energy rises organically.

You’re not low vibe.
You’re simply unfiltered.

And unfiltered is where alignment begins.

What Real Alignment Looks Like

Alignment has three parts:

Truth
Your emotional reality right now.

Integrity
Your willingness to honor that truth.

Action
A step that matches your intention, even if it’s small.

When these three meet, your energy becomes coherent. Your subconscious trusts you again. You don’t need to force your vibration higher. It rises on its own.

One of my students, Clara, used to panic whenever she had an off day. She’d rewrite affirmations for hours. When she started practicing emotional honesty instead — simply saying, “I feel off, and that’s okay” — everything changed.

Take a breath.
Soften your shoulders.
Let your jaw relax.

Ask yourself,
Where have I been trying to be high vibe instead of honest?

Maybe it’s pretending you’re fine.
Maybe it’s skipping over grief too quickly.
Maybe it’s forcing optimism when you’re exhausted.

Your emotions are not obstacles. They are data.
They show you what needs attention, not what needs fixing.

Instead of asking, “How can I raise my vibration?”

Ask, “What part of me needs my honesty right now?”

That is where alignment begins.

One Simple Step to Feel Aligned Today

Wherever you’re reading this, pause for a moment.
Take one slow breath in through your nose and let it out softly.

Ask,
What is one small thing that would feel aligned for me today?

A walk without your phone.
A boundary you’ve been avoiding.
Five minutes of silence before your next task.

Whatever comes up first is your next aligned step.
Your subconscious knows the way.

You’re safe to lead from here.
