The version of you who already has everything you want… isn’t actually far away.
She’s just unfamiliar. And unfamiliar feels unsafe to your subconscious.
And I want you to really sit with that for a second…
Because you’ve tried, right? You’ve tried to “be her now.”
You’ve said the affirmations.
You’ve visualized her morning routine, her confidence, the way she walks into a room.
You know exactly who your Future Self is supposed to be.
But when you try to step into her… something inside you hesitates.
Or tightens.
Or pulls you quietly back into the version of you that you know a little too well.
And it’s not because you’re doing manifestation wrong.
It’s not because you’re not spiritual enough, or disciplined enough, or healed enough.
It’s because your subconscious is trying to protect you from becoming someone it hasn’t met yet.
That’s the part no one talks about in manifestation.
We’re told to act as if, embody her, be her now…
But no one explains what’s happening inside you when you try to become a woman your mind doesn’t yet recognize as “home.”
So let me ask you something…
Why is it so hard to step into the version of yourself you actually want to become?
The version of you who feels confident.
Clear.
Magnetic.
Worthy.
The version of you who already has the love, the money, the peace, the life you’ve been calling in.
Why does becoming her feel so close… and yet just out of reach?
Today, I want to show you that nothing is wrong with you.
You’re not blocked.
You’re not behind.
You’re simply trying to live a new identity… with an old subconscious map.
And once you understand that, everything about manifestation — and everything about who you’re becoming — starts to make a lot more sense.
Why Your Subconscious Resists the “New You”
There’s something incredibly relieving we need to name here.
Your subconscious isn’t wired for the new.
It’s wired for the known.
That means your dreams don’t feel far away because they’re unrealistic.
They feel far away because your nervous system hasn’t met them yet.
It’s like asking your mind to walk into a room it’s never seen before… and call it home.
Of course it feels uncomfortable.
Of course there’s hesitation.
Your subconscious is scanning for safety, asking quietly:
Is this familiar?
Is this me?
Do I belong here?
That’s why stepping into your Future Self can feel like wearing a beautiful outfit that somehow still doesn’t fit.
Not because it’s wrong for you.
But because your body hasn’t relaxed into it yet.
And I really want you to hear this:
There is nothing wrong with you for feeling that tension.
There is nothing wrong with you for slipping back into old patterns.
There is nothing wrong with you for struggling to hold a new identity — even when you want change deeply.
Your subconscious is doing its job.
It’s protecting the identity it knows best.
So when you say, “I’m confident,” but your body remembers years of shrinking…
When you say, “I’m abundant,” but your mind still holds old financial fear…
When you say, “I’m worthy of love,” but part of you remembers heartbreak…
Your subconscious isn’t resisting manifestation.
It’s protecting familiarity.
This is why identity work matters more than techniques.
Identity gaps aren’t signs that you’re failing.
They’re signs that you’re growing beyond what your subconscious has coded as safe.
A Personal Story: When Identity Lagged Behind Reality
I want to share a story from a much earlier chapter of my life — long before I coached women, before SelfMadeLadies, before teaching Subconscious-First Manifestation.
I was working a nine-to-five job.
I had just gone through a painful breakup, lost the house I’d renovated for months, and moved back into my parents’ home.
Honestly… I was just grateful to be employed.
I didn’t feel like someone with options.
I felt like someone trying to survive.
Then something unexpected happened.
The person meant to become manager of our customer service team didn’t fit.
When my boss asked the team who they’d want in that role… everyone said my name.
I was stunned.
Me?
The high-school dropout who never really saw herself as someone important?
I took the job.
Externally, I did everything right.
I led the team well. I got great feedback.
But internally, my identity hadn’t caught up.
I didn’t see myself as a manager.
And that mismatch showed up quickly — especially when I asked for a pay raise.
I didn’t get it.
I went home, cried, drank wine, and wondered what was wrong with me.
But nothing was wrong with my performance.
What was wrong was my self-image.
My subconscious was still leading with the identity it trusted:
the woman who should be grateful, not ask for more.
So I stopped focusing on manifestation techniques…
and started working on my subconscious identity.
Small changes.
How I dressed.
How I spoke.
How I held myself.
Weeks later, I asked again — and got the raise easily.
That moment taught me something I’ve never forgotten:
Identity isn’t a switch.
It’s a slow, loving reintroduction to a version of you your subconscious hasn’t met yet.
How Identity Actually Changes (And Why Small Actions Matter)
The identity gap is the space between who you currently feel like… and who you’re becoming.
And your subconscious will always default to the identity it knows best.
That’s why pressure doesn’t work.
That’s why forcing belief doesn’t stick.
Your subconscious needs proof, not pressure.
Identity shifts through tiny, repeated signals — what I call identity anchors.
The way you close your laptop on time.
The way you say no without overexplaining.
The way you speak up once instead of shrinking.
These micro-actions are not insignificant.
They are the breadcrumb trail your subconscious follows to learn who you are now.
This is why “acting as if” isn’t pretending.
It’s practicing the identity until it becomes familiar.
Identity isn’t something you wake up into one day.
It’s something you build — one embodied choice at a time.
A Gentle Invitation
This kind of identity-based manifestation work isn’t generic — because you aren’t generic.
Your subconscious identity, your emotional patterns, your blocks and desires are unique.
That’s exactly why I created the Subconscious-First Manifestation™ Practical Path — a personalized process that adapts to your identity instead of forcing you into a one-size-fits-all system.
And if you want a softer place to begin, my book ‘Become the CEO of Your Dream Life‘
is the perfect foundation for understanding your subconscious identity and starting this work gently.
Both are linked below.
No pressure.
No fixing.
Just support — when you’re ready.
