3 Simple Steps to Overcome the Fear of Success

Most people don't think they're afraid of success. Why should you be afraid of something you want so much, right? But maybe you have this fear in you without really realizing it. And that would be terrible news!
The fear of success is a topic you should definitely deal with. This fear is often very deep, in your subconscious mind, and you consciously don't perceive it at all.
The problem with this fear, besides of being a big abundance block, is that it can paralyze you, and stops you from taking action.
Our life rarely changes; we accept the situation. We don't necessarily like it as it is, but it is comfortable. We know what to expect.
We may be dissatisfied with it, but we know we can handle it.
In short, we humans don't like big changes. Hello, comfort zone!
And that's the same with success.
Success, no matter if in your business, in your career, financially, in love, in sports, all this brings changes. Even if these are mostly positive and we actually have the desire to reach exactly this state.
Nevertheless, they are changes, and changes bring insecurities and uncertainties with them.
What can you do now?
Find out if you really fear success
You could be afraid of success if you do the following things over and over again:
You leave projects unfinished
No matter if you start a project in your business or your private life, if you often leave stuff unfinished, or simply lose interest, this could be a warning signal that you are afraid of success.
You make plans that you don't pursue
Does this sound familiar to you, you intend to change something in your life, then you make a plan, but in the end, you do not take any action. Again, it might well be that your fear of success is blocking you.
Maybe it's your new diet plan, or your new Trello set up to take your business to the next level, if you don't take any action at the end, the best plan doesn't help.
You can't make up your mind
If you find it challenging to make decisions, especially for the important things that could get you ahead, this can be a clear sign that you may be afraid of success.
People who have a clear focus and know exactly what they want, without fear of "what then," have no problem making decisions.
You talk more than you take action
Always talking about what you could do and then never doing anything is another clear sign that something is blocking you. And it can very well be that the fear of your success is behind it.
You are stuck
If you always go in circles and never change, then it's probably because you're afraid of change. This also includes the fear of success.
Do these points seem familiar to you?
Welcome to the club, you are in the best company here. Many of us are struggling with the above-mentioned points, especially if you are a female entrepreneur.
But also in your private life or if you are employed, these blocks can appear again and again and prevent you from making progress in life.
Don't let that happen!
Here I give you three simple strategies to overcome your fear of success and finally implement the changes you have been striving for a long time.
Visualization is a tool that I often use in practice, be it to help my students and clients, to overcome their blocks or to program their subconscious mind.
I personally also use visualization every day.
The trick here is that you expand your comfort zone (read more about it here How to Crush Big Goals Without Leaving Your Comfort Zone) and that you go a bit beyond the goal you want to reach.
Imagine yourself being much more successful than you actually plan to become
- Do you want to earn 6-figures with your business? Then imagine that you make seven figures.
- Do you want to buy a house that costs about 1 million? Then imagine you're moving into a 20 million mansion.
- Do you want to lose 10 pounds? Then imagine you lost 20 pounds and are now super toned like a fitness model.
Visualizations work best if you use them daily and make sure you have the picture as clear as possible in front of you.

Reframe your failures
Your fear of success might actually be a fear of failure.
So it is for all of us; deep inside we fear to fail, and then it is clear that we are blocking ourselves. And don't even try.
But you have to understand; there is no failure at all! Mistakes are only feedback and the possibility to learn something new.
It means that you need more practice, more time, more knowledge about a topic...
In the beginning, it is hard to see mistakes and failures from that point of view, but this is a conscious decision you can make, every day, and with time your mindset will totally turn around.
Get a Clear Vision and Take Action
If you have a clear vision of what you want, then it is easier to take action.
Big goals bring big motivation; that's why I always ask my students and coaching clients to set big goals for themselves.
The only important thing with these goals is that you break them down into action steps that you can actually implement.
Small action steps automatically help you to overcome your fear, and with these smaller goals you achieve, with these milestones, you can slowly approach the big overall goal.
And soon you will have the big success and no more fear about reaching it.
Are you afraid of success?
It often doesn't seem so clear. Because fearing success seems illogical to us at first, but if we take a closer look at the fear behind it, it makes sense that so many of us struggle with this.
