How to Manifest Positivity (Even in Negative Times)

In today’s world, it’s quite easy to get overwhelmed with all the negativity. There are so many things that seem out of our control right now, and it can be difficult not to give up on everything and just let life happen…

But what if I told you that you could manifest positivity, even in negative times? In this quick blog post, I love to share with you how to use the power of the law of attraction, and your subconscious mind, to attract more positivity into your life.

But not only that. I also love to clear up a big misconception, that you always have to be high-vibe and in a good mood to manifest successfuly. (No toxic positivity in this space, my friend!)

Positivity is everywhere if you know how to look for it. You can manifest positivity in your life by focusing on the things that are going right instead of what’s wrong around us.

That’s where gratitude plays a big role in the manifestation process. But more on that later.

It’s all about letting go when necessary, so we don’t let negative thoughts consume our lives or take up too much space inside ourselves. Because then we are able to recognize all those moments where something positive was happening even though they might not seem like a big deal at first glance.

Your subconscious mind plays such an important role because whatever happens inside of you will eventually reflect on the outside. That’s really the big secret of how manifesting works.

You better watch out for what you feed your subconscious.

So let’s dig into some techniques you can use to change negativity into more positivity to keep up the high vibes (without having to practice toxic positivity because it’s all about the right balance.)

How to Reframe Negativity into Positivity

There are many ways to reframe negativity and turn it into positivity. Changing your language is one way to help you reframe negativity.

That’s why I love the power of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and I use it often in my manifestation teachings.

Let me give a simple example for this: When something bad has happened to you, then simply change the words in your sentence.

So instead of saying:

“I feel bad about not getting the job I wanted so badly….”

You could say:

“It’s a shame I didn’t get the job, but I’m looking forward to what the next opportunity will be; it might be my absolute dream job… .”

You really never know. This happened to my husband. He had an interview for a company he had wanted to work for a very long time. Something didn’t quite click. And he actually didn’t get the job.

He was pretty upset about it, but I told him that there must be just something bigger waiting. A few weeks later, he got invited for a job interview at Google, got the job, and it turned out that this was his absolute dream job.

And you see, this has nothing to do with “toxic positivity,” I’m not about being happy-go-lucky 24/7, as no one can really be like this. But small changes in how you word your sentence can make a huge difference in the messages you send to your subconscious mind.

This small change may seem silly at first, but it does make a difference when you start thinking more positively about what could happen and not dwelling on the negative.

Another way to leverage the power of changing language when manifesting positivity is to change your words from negative ones into more neutral phrases.

So instead of saying:

“This terrible thing happened to me.”

You could say:

“this bad event has happened.”

This small change makes a huge difference too. The more neutral wording no longer spreads the message that it had happened to YOU but was just an event that happened.

Much less emotional engagement in that phrase.

Next time when you speak about something negative, try to simply use less emotional speech patterns.

Rewording the questions people are asking you (this also works if you ask them yourself) is another great way to reframe negativity too.

For example, if someone asks me, “What’s wrong?” Instead of answering with something negative, I could reply with, “What can we do to fix it?”

Exploring the positivity of what is happening in your life and realizing that you have a choice, whether or not to be positive, is key.

And that’s one of the main messages I teach in my bestselling manifestation book, Become the CEO of Your Dream Life.

You become the CEO, and getting in control of your thoughts, beliefs, habits, and ultimately manifestations means you start to sit in the driver’s seat of your life.

Negative Feelings Are Often Only Temporary, But Our Manifestations Are Long-term

his, too, shall pass…

Remember, most of the time, negative emotions or happenings are only temporary. And we will be okay in the end.

And maybe, we even get out of the situation as a better version of ourselves (with new learnings we were able to make…)

So do not give up hope that things are going to get easier—most of the time, they will. AND most of the time, you have control. What helps me personally is thinking back on times when stuff didn’t turn out the way I wanted it and then reflecting on how I feel about it today.

Time does heal most wounds.

I’m a big fan of journaling for this type of reflection work, and my daily journaling practice also helps me to understand that most of my negative feelings are just a short-term point of view and can change in days (if not hours).

If you do journal regularly, just look back to days you didn’t feel well and then check on what you wrote a few days or weeks later. It’s an interesting exercise.

So next time you feel negativity, ask yourself: why worry about anything that most probably goes away on its own anyway?

Manifestation is a long-term journey (so please ignore all the social media posts claiming you can manifest your dreams in the next 24 hours, they really just want to get more clicks…)

Manifesting BIG dreams, and BIG change needs a BIG transformation.

And that’s a good thing because if you could manifest something instantly, just by being more positive and high-vibe (and yes, some do claim that too…), you could actually also manifest negative things instantly by just having one negative thought.

We don’t want that!

Gratitude Is Not Only for Good Days

In order to manifest positive things into your life, you need to establish a certain level of positive thinking. And one of the most important things that will allow you to have this high vibe emotional level is gratitude.

And appreciation for what you have already accomplished in your life.

It might take some practice first getting into an appreciative mindset, especially when you are not feeling great, to begin with. That’s why gratitude is something you should practice daily.

It’s a bit like a muscle you train.

And then when you really need it, like when you have one of THESE days, it has already become a habit.

Let’s have a look at three simple ways to practice gratitude in your everyday life:

  1. Text a loved one and show how much you love them.
  2. Be thankful for another day of life when you wake up.
  3. Recap your day before bed, and think about how it made you a better person. (This includes learnings you take out of negative experiences.)

Don’t overcomplicate this. And you definitely don’t need that “perfect curated” life some people show us on Instagram to be grateful for what you have. (It’s usually fake anyway these days…)

Sometimes I get asked how I can always be so lucky with my life (well, that’s usually from people that don’t know that I’m a manifestation coach and author) – and I believe one of my big secrets is the gratitude I experience towards life.

I can be happy about the smallest things in life.

The thing is, your subconscious mind can’t even understand the difference. It’s all about the feeling of gratitude. And if it’s just for your cup of coffee in the morning… that’s fine.

Manifesting Positivity Is Not All That Hard (Even in Negative Times)

Again, it’s not about toxic positivity; it’s about looking just a little bit more positive at everything in your life. Something you can start right now.

Sometimes it’s just about taking responsibility for our lives and stop to act like the victim.

Unfortunately, bad things happen. You can either let this make your life difficult or accept it as it is and try to make the best of it.

Because always keep in mind that you are manifesting 24/7 if you want it or not, so it’d be definitely better when you take control of what you attract into your life.
